Broadly speaking, leadership programmes have become run of the mill in recent years. This is something H-Training is striving to disrupt. We can support you to reach higher with a high-impact leadership programme that pushes students to achieve more, become resilient and develop the skills of a high performing leader.

With over 30-years -experience in a range of corporate and public sector settings, the H-Training team have a unique and broad ranging insight into what it takes to make a career in leadership. We have honed our expertise to successfully foresee developments in business and navigate the ever increasing opportunities there are for trusted leaders who bring people with them. This programme will challenge you to reflect on your experience of leadership and to identify leadership styles, while most importantly applying them to your everyday management practice.

The aim and objectives of the H-Training Leadership & Management Programme is to bring participants through a learning experience based on reflection in their current role, producing an in-depth awareness of their own innate ability as a leader. They then develop the skills and techniques to enable them to lead in their role, delivering results through an engaged and progressive team.

Our Programs & Core Units

The programs has full flexibility to meet the specific needs of the Organisation and may be delivered through group sessions, individual coaching sessions or a combination of both.

1. Understanding the Management Role to Improve Performance

The specific responsibilities of managers in enabling an organisation to achieve its goals are discussed, including identification of the goals and objectives of your organisation.  You will evaluate your own role as a manager in enabling goal achievement.  We will delve into your interpersonal and communication skills, with particularly focus on how to overcome any communication barriers you may face.  You will assess your own managerial knowledge, skills, and behaviours as we build your personal development plan to improve performance.

2. Assessing Own Leadership Capability and Performance

The importance of leadership styles within your organisation will be assessed, we will reference many leadership theories, including the behavioural school (McGregor, Blake & Mouton), the situational school (Hersey & Blanchard, Goleman), leaders and followers (Team Leadership, Transactional and Transformational). We will assess the key responsibilities of leaders and their impact on the values and goals of your organisation. You will review your own ability to motivate and build commitment within your team and your organisation.

3. Understanding the Management Role to Improve Performance

5. Developing and Leading Teams to Achieve Organisational Goals and Objectives

The effectiveness of your organisation at measuring team performance against goals and objectives will be evaluated, along with your own impact in enabling this.  Processes of delegation and empowerment will be discussed, and the characteristics and behaviours associated with initiative, creativity and innovation and how to foster them.  You will learn about management systems including The Balanced Scorecard and Total Quality Management. You will identify techniques for evaluating team performance, and giving constructive feedback to support, motivate and develop your team.

or …. Managing Remote Workers

Different forms of remote working will be reviewed, including contractual requirements to ensure remote workers are aligned to the organisational and team goals and objectives.  We will evaluate the Health & Safety and GDPR legislative requirements that apply to remote working practices in your organisation.   The advantages and disadvantages of remote working for the employer and remote worker will be explored.  You will assess your ability to lead, motivate, and support remote workers and remote working practices.

6. Managing and Implementing Change in the Workplace

Reasons behind continual change within organisations will be assessed.  Techniques including environmental analysis – PESTLE, and organisational analysis – SWOT will be applied to your organisation to identify possible areas for change.  You will evaluate your own ability to implement change, including assessing benefits and risks and developing a change plan that includes implementation, monitoring, and review.

7. Motivating People in the Workplace

The factors that may affect performance and motivation in the workplace will be explored.  You will apply the theories of motivation to your own organisation and evaluate the principles that may affect performance. We will review case studies and research evidence on using motivation theory and will assess the potential conflicts between individual and team motivation.  You will gain an understanding of how people are motivated and learn about tools and techniques for identification of different motivational needs. You will develop positive approaches to offset negative attitudes and develop measures for evaluating performance.

8. Managing own Continuing Professional Development

We will evaluate your prior learning and experience, identify strengths and weaknesses in self-development, assess development aims, objectives and priorities.  The processes of goal setting, SMART objectives, learning styles and the learning cycle will be discussed and applied to your personal development.  You will do a deep dive into learning and development opportunities available to you both formal and informal and assess your self-management skills for undertaking these learning and development activities.
